Managing your workspaces#

This guide describes how to add, rename, list, and close the workspaces in your Lambda Cloud account.

Adding a workspace#

By default, each account has a single default workspace. If you have an account role with the Workspace: Create permission, you can add more workspaces to the account.

To add a new workspace to your account:

  1. Navigate to the Workspaces page in the Lambda Cloud console.
  2. Click Create workspace. A dialog appears.
  3. Under Name, enter a name for the new workspace.
  4. Click Create workspace to create the new workspace.

Renaming a workspace#

If you have an account role with the Workspace: Update permission, you can rename the workspaces in your account.

To rename a workspace in your account:

  1. Navigate to the Workspaces page in the Lambda Cloud console.
  2. In the target workspace's row, click ⋮. A context menu appears.
  3. Click Rename. A dialog appears.
  4. Edit or replace the name in the Name input.
  5. Click Rename to update the workspace name.

Closing a workspace#

If you have an account role with the Workspace: Delete permission, you can close workspaces in your account, with the exception of the default workspace.

Warning

You must terminate all instances and delete all filesystems from the workspace before you can remove it.

To remove a workspace from your account:

  1. Back up any important data, and then terminate all instances and delete all filesystems in the workspace you want to close.
  2. Navigate to the Workspaces page in the Lambda Cloud console.
  3. In the row containing the user's details, click ⋮. A context menu appears.
  4. Click Close workspace. A modal appears.
  5. Review the warning text.
  6. If you still want to proceed, enter the displayed text into the input field and then click Close workspace to finish closing the workspace.
